Dr. Mavis W. Garrett

Owner

Dr. Mavis W. Garrett received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the University of Virginia. She began her career in Hampton Roads at an ear, nose and throat specialist’s office in Norfolk upon graduation. While there, she became a faculty member of Eastern Virginia Medical School and served as an instructor for the medical school. In 1984, she began a long affiliation with a local hospital system. In 2003, she was awarded a Doctorate in Audiology from AT Still University, and in 2008 she joined Maico as a clinical provider. She became the owner in 2012.

Dr. Garrett holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association. She is a fellow with the American Academy of Audiology and holds licenses in both Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Dr. Garrett avidly seeks continuing education and stays in tune with the latest developments in technology and rehabilitative services for the hearing impaired of all ages.

When not busy helping improve the lives of those with hearing impairments, she is an advocate for animal rescue. She enjoys quilting and needle arts. Many of her pieces are on display in our offices.

Dr. D. Krystin Farrell

Dr. Farrell received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders (cum laude) from San Diego State University and her clinical Doctorate in Audiology from Gallaudet University. She is proficient in American Sign Language and is a strong advocate for the Deaf. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and is certified in clinical competency with the American Speech Language and Hearing Association. Dr. Farrell has been practicing since 2006, with 9 years of experience in the ENT setting, and is highly respected by her patients and the medical community in which she’s worked. She enjoys riding her motorcycle on sunny days.

Bridget McMullen, M.A, CCC-A

Bridget McMullen, USAF Maj (Ret.), graduated from LSU in 1992 with a Bachelor’s in Communication Disorders and in 1994 with a Master’s in Audiology. She began her career at San Antonio Medical Center and worked at an ENT group in Austin, Texas before joining the Air Force as an Audiologist in 1995. She was stationed in Germany, Alaska and Texas, before finally coming to Langley, Virginia where she retired after 20 years of military service. She is a certified member of ASHA and holds both Texas and Virginia Audiology and Hearing Aid Specialist licenses. Bridget is passionate about the field of audiology and helping people continue to stay connected to family and friends through better hearing.

Stephanie R. Howard, M.A., CCC-A

Stephanie Howard has been providing audiological and hearing aid services in the Tidewater area for over 25 years. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree from East Carolina University and a Master of Arts Degree from University of Tennessee-Knoxville. She holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association, a Commonwealth of Virginia Audiology license and Hearing Aid Specialist license and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. Stephanie joined MAICO in April 2019 with over 30 years of experience working with ENT physicians as a clinical audiologist providing diagnostic testing and hearing aid services for infants, children and adults.
